I had this game on PSP, I don't remember the open world concept at all, probably cus my PSP was stolen before I could make it very far in tbe game, but I LOVED the races in the game even though I wasn't a super huge Cars fan. I loved the level design for all the races and being able to play at those bad cars that make Mac fall asleep was one of my favourite parts of the game cus their character design was so cool! And I'm pretty sure they had nitro? I'd love to be able to play it again

I can articulate pretty well why I consider Playground of Destruction an underrated masterpiece of the 6th console generation and consider the second game one of the games of the seventh, and it's all to do with the mood and atmosphere. The second game is lacking the sensational ripped from the headlines of the time realism and oppressive atmosphere of the first game and leans so hard on the comedy it falls on it's face. Comedy, which was there in the first game, but it was mostly satirical comments on the game world and the factions within and some snarky banter between your character and Fiona on occasion, rarely your character might blurt out a one-liner. Mercs 2 on the other hand is one long wild and whacky joke that starts with your character getting shot in the butt and doesn't stop until the credits. For example Instead of bribing faction officials through the Russian Mafia to direct some of their ordinance your way, now you've got a whacky drunken MiG pilot delivering your ordinance. Same goes for equipment and vehicle delivery, except now you've got your very own personal whacky Irishman helicopter pilot. The Australian office woman that served as the planner of your mission and your handler in the first game? Well she returns and is now a witty boots on the ground field agent baddie. While we're at it, why not throw an unhinged feisty latina stereotype mechanic who creates whacky custom vehicles for you. Oh, and we just can't forget the zany voodoo pirates and those coocoo communist rebels. I wanted to love Mercs 2 so bad, but between the bugs and the writers basically turning everything possible into a joke you'd see on Spike TV, it is just grating to play through. Also despite preordering and having a valid code I never received the alternate outfits back in the day.

vice city was an homage to scarface and then they made a scarface game to fit into the vice city vibe lol it's like how they specifically said in the process of creating lara croft that she's the female Indiana jones, and then later when uncharted was made they said they made Nathan drake to be the male lara croft lol

Yes, RED DAWN gets always quoted at that point. Me I rather had choosen the Pilot Eopsode of SLIDERS when the group encounters the Sowjet occupied San Francisco.. To my mind that came even closer to the game as, the also well done classical RED DAWN movie.

I remember playing this game on the Wii all the time with my brother when we were little kids and I don’t think we ever actually did the story or anything. We just drove around the world and drove into other cars 😂

The lighting and textures in this game were incredibly ahead of their time. Driver’s lighting effects remind me a lot of Vagrant Story’s.

I’m playing this on my PS3 right now and it’s the most fun and the most engaged I’ve been in a game. Be ready to die and start over again a couple of times. Ammo and health is a resource you have to collect and if you burn through it you will be left with your fists. I include the shortcomings as a feature for this game. It came out in 2007. Expect some jank.

Pandemic was a studio that deserved to be around for a while. EA just needed to urge them to make refinements but that's too much to ask EA to do...unless it's microtransactions

The rumors of the 2009 to 2010 delay for Blood Stone were likely true, as Blood Stone was at one point planned to have a Wii port that was being developed by SuperVillain Studios that got cancelled due to this delay. To quote an SVS developer: "We were working on the Wii version of a major film license (although this particular game was not tied directly to the films). We were really happy with the work we had done, and it was looking amazingly good for a game that was tasked with mimicking high-end photo-real 360/PS3 visuals as best as the machine could. Unfortunately, there were major delays on the 360/PS3 version and the big bucks dictate that money is best spent focusing on those consoles with this type of game (3rd person cover/action shooter, think Gears of War-type gameplay). So the Wii version was eventually canceled. It happens quite a lot behind the scenes, especially these days with publishers being super careful with their money in the down economy. There are a ton of games that don't see the light of day." I originally thought this Wii port the developer was referring to was for another game (that game being Transformers: War for Cybertron) however after searching for some time i found out it was for Blood Stone instead, heck i was even able to find a couple of screenshots of the Istanbul level. Also speaking of War for Cybertron, are you gonna do a review on that game?

Playing this on the Wii back then, the graphics in Race O Rama look amazing, and I think they’re even better than Mater National or the first Cars games. It has a lot of the texture and reflection put into it this game that it makes it look so eye catching. And one of the best things about this game is that you can go to many different hub worlds other than Radiator Springs, which they all look amazing. And you get to customize Lightning McQueen anyway you like. Not only the paint job, but also with the hood, tires or spoiler. It’s a really cool game.

I’m sorry. But if you think this is challenging you seriously should consider getting a different Job. This is a game designed for children and even child me never struggled at expert difficulty
